Sea & Land
Every island, every village has a strong local character. Distances between islands are very short, so even for a brief cruise you can experience the excitement of constant change.
Greece is a land of striking contrasts and they are reflected in the cruising area:
The Greek north, where the heart of Byzantium still beats in the monastery of Mt. Athos, the blazing white rock islands of the Aegean, the gentle Ionian waters, Peloponnisos, dense with history, or Crete where Minoan ruins alternate with unspoiled villages and medieval towns brimming with commerce. You can also extend your cruise to Turkish coast, rich in ancient sites, lovely anchorages and great markets.

Climate
Brilliantly sunny, hot and dry April to October, but refreshed by windswhich are moderate to strong. The meltemi, the north wind often blowing hard in midsummer, is not only a force to be handled carefully, with proper
scheduling and right anchoring, but is also a blessing, because it cools the air and gives the Aegean stunning clarity and intensity.

History
Myth and history are alive in Greece in the minds of people and in the landscape. Wherever you cruise, you will find legendary sites, ancient monuments, museums or towns worth visiting. This part of the world has been settled from earliest times onwards and the remains of the past civilizations are visible often in the most spectacular spots near the sea.

Food
The key is taste and freshness. Eating Greek style meals is above all sampling a variety of small dishes (mezes) . It is a cuisine based on fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood and meat, prepared with fresh herbs and spices. One of the great joys of your cruise will be lingering over drinks and arrays of mezes or sometimes visiting local markets and vineyards where you can discover wonderful regional wines.

Everyday life
Perhaps the greatest talent of the Greeks is living well, taking and giving pleasure at the slightest pretext. Enjoying everything, whether it is having a philosophical discussion over ouso at a seaside café, making a fiesta out of the simplest meal, or watching the sunrise after of dancing to the music
of the bouzouki, violin and bagpipe. Life never stops in Greece, not even at night, especially in the summer, and there is a readiness for joy and celebration which is contagious.

According to the Greek sailing laws you need at least one official sailing license in order to take over a bare boat.

As a sailing license, the port police recognizes any official paper from a sailing school, a yacht club or any relative organization, that has tested and can verify your ability to handle a sailing yacht. If your certificate, is issued by a country that is not a member of the European Union, it must be accompanied by a translation in Greek or English.

If you do not have such a qualification paper, a professional skipper will be provided to you to insure your safety and well being, with a standard fee per day. MG Yachts has the right as by the official charter contract, to ask you to prove your sailing abilities and knowledge by making a small round trip with one of our representatives on board. This test event is considered part of the charter period.

The price that you will pay for the charter is officially stated on your contract, which is approved by the Hellenic Ministry of Merchant Marine.

No extra charges will arise during your charter.

The charterer of a MG yacht has to pay only for fuel, water and gas. If you order of any additional extras, you will formerly be informed of their price, which will be stated also in the contact.

In the aforesaid contract you will see that you have to leave a deposit that varies according to the size of the yacht.
This insures that you are responsible only for that amount of money for any loss or damage may be caused.

Every yacht is insured against any damage that exceeds that amount. At the end of your charter the Security Deposit will be refunded back to you.

We accept for that amount of guaranty, VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, or cash.

Personal checks are not accepted.

There is also the possibility of insured deposit. Feel free to request for more information about this type of guaranty.

If you think that you are interested in sailing and you wish to acquire additional information, your local MG YACHTS agent will be happy to fill you in.

In case you want to charter a yacht please inform us about the chartering period you are interested in and the size of the boat you want.

We, in turn, will inform you about the availabilities, make the best possible proposal and hold an option on the boat you prefer for five days until you make a decision, without any constraints for you, whatsoever.

The final booking of the boat takes place when you send us the pre-agreed first payment for the charter.
